We first met Zoe Minikes of Flower Press at the great Detroit Art Book Fair and have been admiring each others’ work since. Through a mutually supportive barter arrangement, we are carrying a couple of their titles and they are carrying some of our work.
This booklet by Nicole Lavelle explores her deeply conflicted feelings about growing up in the Bay Area and working in the tech industry, while being an artist in ways that do not pay the bills. It's a fascinating collection of personal reflections that—while drawn from specific regional experiences—confronts issues and problems that are inescapable just about everywhere.
From the publisher:
"What’s inside, all mixed together? The Relation Between Things in a Continuum is a grappling with mismatching parts of an identity, a love letter to a home place, and a railing against the beast that eats the things you love."
