Synopsis: Jason Polan represents every piece of art on display at the Museum of Modern Art from January 19 to January 30, 2005 in simple black and white drawings. Polan sweeps through the museum section by section as he records the art in graphic doodles accompanied by distilled notations of artists and work titles. Some attention is given to scale, but most works are rendered in thumbnail size, giving equal weight to an Apple ibook as to Malevich's Suprematist circle. The book reflects the glut of artistic wealth captured by MoMA's collection and the daunting task of absorbing its vast amount of visual information.
